Looks pretty good given what you paid. (heehee)

My taste would say frame it, but it doesn't look bad and it looks a hell of a lot better than the "layback" plate you get out of the Harley catalog. I'm thinking I'm going to make one at work (work at a machine shop) and have it powder coated (we have a PC line too)...60 bucks is just too dammed much for a license plate bracket!

I was thinking about a frame as well I just got to find one in black or maybe an old one somewhere and paint it.

I got the laydown/radius plate mount from Drag Specialties also, the only problem that I have is that the damn NY plate gets half covered by the chrome frame and looks like crap. I'll probably be mounting the plate directly to the backing place and then to the fender, which actually looks pretty good.

It will take a 4x7 plate, but if you have your any part of the plate design or lettering that is near the edge, it will be covered by the trim piece.

Great post. Little things make the difference. Did any of you guys consider mounting your license plate to the side?

I had thought about it but I dunno I like things to match and just having the plate on one side would have bothered me I think.

I like the looks of the flat fender mount also. I have Kur low profile tail light with LED and I don't want to comprimise that safety feature with a smaller side mount tail light. I think I will copy you guys and go with the flat fender mount.
