In my opinion, nitrogen is snake oil.
The air you breath (and put in your tires from an air compressor) is already 78% nitrogen.
Just another way for dealers and vendors to move dollars from your pocket to theirs.
Check you pressure frequently to ensure your tires are properly inflated and forget about nitrogen.
, Although nitrogen is relatively cheap, air is still free and tires don`t generally leak down very fast. I check mine about every 2 weeks.

You can call it snake oil, but for that reason alone it is a good reason to use it if it's free.
Where do you get free nitrogen? Although it`s cheap, it`s not free. I have my own nitrogen bottle and I still have to pay for a refilled one.

BTW, the last set of tires and tubes I put on seem to hold air far better than previous sets..
Nitrogen does NOT leak more readily than air simply because it is an inert gas; ie it will not increase or decrease in pressure with temperature change. However, that difference between it and the air we breathe is so minute it would be pointless to attempt to measure it.

Nitrogen obeys the normal "gas laws", and will change pressure with temperature just like air.
However, bottled nitrogen tends to have much lower moisture content than ordinary compressed air, and it's the lack of moisture that creates greater pressure stability with temperature change.
