Default Barebacks

Cyclevisions Barebacks, Got'em, don't like'em. They make the bags stick out a little to far and they say to thieves "come steal me". I'm stickin' with hard mounts for now, I was hoping for better.

Thanks for the warning. I was close to buying a set. Hate wasting money on stuff that don't look right.
Have any pictures to post of them on your bike?

@iDodgimus, Yeah I know, I just like the look of the saddlebags tight to the bike. Thinking about reversing the stock bolts, drilling them and shimming them for cotter pins from inside the bags but the bags still don't lock.
@Chicago Ken, No pictures, took them off and will be selling them soon.

The fact that anybody can walk away with the saddlebags (without tools) is a non starter for me.

I have Bruckus security harware on my detachable windshield and I lock my helmet thru the chin bar with a cable lock when I don't feel like carrying it. I just ain't gonna hang $600.00 saddlebags on a quick release that you don't need any tools to take off.

I love barebacks, if you think they stick out too far, take a look at ghost bracket and others, even worse. For security, what if someone cut your bag strap and steal stuff? No difference. To be honest, I cannot have hard mounted bags, at least not my Dyna.

Bags on

Bags off

Mine are so difficult to get off I feel like any thief would get deterred or I would see them by the time they got them off. I guess that's good, but on the other hand they are supposed to be quick release and there is nothing quick or easy about about them. Unless somebody knows something I don't....
