Ditto, great improvement over the stock Dunlop.

Well I went ahead and ordered the Metzeler 888's this afternoon. They road real well on that Titanium and it seems like a good intermediate tire. I'm told with aggressive riding, I can expect 7k to 8k miles from a set. I typically change oil around 4k miles. If I can get a couple of oil changes per set of tires, I'll be satisfied. While I would like maximum grip, I just can't hang with changing tires every oil change. If I only rode 4k miles a year, that would be fine. But I'd be going thru 2 to 3 sets a year, which I don't want to deal with.

So thanks to all of you for your opinions. They're appreciated.

Avon Cobra Venoms!, bar none! Excellent wet and dry handling..the peak of the tires allows you to go farther over and wear more evenly! Ran over 100K on em on my 01 wide glide with good mileage for a performance tire. about 12k on a rear, and upwards of 17-20k on the front if I was on good pavement. Since I toured a lot of backroads across the U.S., chipped roadways ate em up, but then again, every tire I have run gets chewed on that type of nasty road! Venoms grip wet better than Dunlop, Michellin and Metzler dry on this style of bike. imho.

Default Michelins

I went through 2 sets of Michelin Pilot Road tires (radials) before they quit making them. I now run the Pilot Road IIIs, and they stick like glue. I got 6K out of the regular PRs but the IIs and IIIs have dual compounds so the tire life should be better. The handle great in the damp and are awesome in curves. Works for me.
BTW I have Michelin Commander IIs on my big bike and although I have less than a thousand miles on them, they have done everything I have asked of them and without bitching about it. They hold well in turns, are quiet, and they only thing I have noticed is that they do not like gravel, just like any other tire.

I agree. HUGE improvement over the stock junk. Handles really well on twisty roads.
