Default really stupid question

but at least i can blame it on a closed head injury ! lol

went and got oil and a filter and was jus about to change oil and forgot the oil capacity of my 06 dyna, i go inside and look for my owners manual and i cant find that either!im thinking close to 2 quarts but i not sure. anybody ?

It takes 2.5 quarts of oil. I usually put a small amount in the filter before it is screwed on. This is to get the oil in the filter so it doesn't knock as long when started.

thanks. havent changed the only since my 1000 mile service i got at 1600 miles. i have around 7000 miles on it now so im a bit overdue..... i have to get better with it i know. now im off to try to remember where the hell i set the oil down.
