I have a solo seat from a 2006 that was modded to add about 2" forward push. I was selling it cheap. Could always get the matching passanger pillion.
I have modded a couple seats for that purpose...and those pegs will help his foot from sliding down. They also will take the pressure off his upper thigh area from extending the feet.
They act like boards but look like pegs...I have the same.
