For those of you running a Road Rage, how's the road clearance and lean angle? The indie I've been talking to says if you want the best combo of tq and hp, Bassani is the one you want, but be careful, 'cause the lean angle sucks.
Anybody dragging the hard bits?
Depends on the road rage model. They have two different head pipe designs. Look at all the RR models. My old RR2 would scrape
Here's what my challenge is...there are models with side by side headpipes, and ones with stacked headpipes. Obviously the side by side give much better ground clearance.
I like to ride. And, I've been talking to a racer who rides Dynas, and we're talking about rear shocks. I'm going to go to a longer than stock rear shock, which will bring up the rear of the muffler closer to my bags, which are the LeatherPros T-Sport bags. I like the longer styles instead of the "upswept" shorter styles. The good news on the short ones is that they might actually come up in front of the bags, but then I've got to worry about scorching the front of the bags. The longer style won't cook the bags, but then I've got to make sure they don't hit the bottom of the aluminum heat guard on the bottom.
I'm going to have a hard time figuring out the mix of longer shocks plus the new mufflers.
Yeah. .I changed the 12" shocks for 13.5" for the added clearance as well
One of the things I'm wanting to do with longer rear shocks is to reduce the rake and trail a little bit. Was there a noticeable change in handling and cornering?
Considering these as well for 14 wide glide. Was concerned that they might be "too much" pipe for a 103. Spoke with Daryl at Bassani and he assured me that these would be a good choice with air filter and tune. Another good point he made was that these would work great with future mods ie cams. He said the headpipes on these are equal length to within an inch. The pipes and heat shields are made from 16 gauge steel.
I'm running 13.5" JRI shocks on the back & the Road Rage pipes I put on have the upsweep to them - never dragged a pipe - although I have scraped my boot heel and peg......
The handling is much better - might just be having taken the stock POS shocks ones off....
