I bought one of the $125 header pipes off eBay where the guy had cut it open and then welded it back up. Did a pretty nice job overall. Welds are a little sloppy but good and solid and cover up with the shield.
It made a pretty significant difference in heat. I installed it with screamin eagle pipes and a set of Xieds and am super happy with the setup. Louder, deeper, but not ear bleeding either.
main difference all our customers talk about is heat... i know when i gutted my dads ultra and built his factory 2-2 into a 2-1, he raved about how much less heat he felt, bike was more responsive, and sounded better... this seems to go right along with what our customers say... thanks for the ups on the welds... i had a cut off wheel explode while cutting that so my cut was a nightmare, thankfully we have Tim in the shop that is the most gifted welder i have ever seen in my life!

Yea, I noticed a pretty significant difference in heat and richening things up a bit helps too. The sound difference cat vs. No cat is very subtle. Probably wouldn't know the difference if you werent listening for it.
