What did you do to your Dyna today?
I'd told the group before we left the fuel stop that we'd need to be in the inside lane to make a left a few blocks further up so when the traffic had cleared I pulled out at a right angle to the roadway, when the front wheel crossed into the inside lane I snapped my head right and flipped the Wide Glide in to the left of the inside lane; she tried to do what I did, pulling out at a right angle but pointing the bike at oncoming traffic moving at 50 MPH froze her on the bars and that's all it took...She and her husband are on their way over right now; when I safety checked her bike yesterday the amount of throttle freeplay and lack of friction zone sure doesn't help her at all so I'm going to adjust both to give that lady a fighting chance

On a side note, what type bars do you have on your scoot?
They both rode over, threw fans on her bike to cool it down so I could do a correct clutch adjustment. While we waited we had a beverage and talked about the ride yesterday and what went south; then I got out in to the garage and took that horrid amount of freeplay out of the throttle/idle cables. Adjusted the clutch pack and clutch cable freeplay. They rode back 1 hour later and she said that she couldn't believe how much better she could control the bike; kissed me on the cheek and wanted to know how much she owed me; told her she just paid me
She did say the next time I set up a 'Ride Like a Pro' course at the high school she'd be there... that's a win...Whtwolf14, I'm still running the stock '13 Wide Glide #55980-10A bars; I'd planned on changing them out but once I added the 2" DK Custom fat riser extensions I fell in love with them. One day I'll go to 18" apes but for now I really like the look of the bike; I miss the apes I had on my other Wide Glides but this setup just works with this new Wide Glide...
- Mustang Wide Tripper Solo Seat
- 5 3/4 LED Headlight & Bucket
- Wild 1 Outlaws 14 inch Apes (Though despite liking these on fat bobs I might offload these in favour of some MX-Tbars)
- Arlen Ness Grips
- Gloss Black Fender/Strut Cover
- HD Tribal Mirrors
- Timing Cover - HD Black Finned
- Derby Cover - HD Black Finned
And the list of remaining parts to order to go on in the first round.
- Tuner - Vance & Hines Fuelpak Fp3
- Air Filter/Intake - Probably Joker Machine
- Rear Turn Signals - Probably Arlen Ness
- Front Turn Signals - Probably Joker Machine or Bikecraft
- HD Satin Black Billet Style Rear Brake Lever
- HD Billet Style Shift Lever
- HD LED Fuel Gauge
- HD Diamond Black Fuel Cap
- HD Black HD Levers
I ran legends on my 2010 and loved them but the Aussie dollar isn't what it was when I ordered my last set. Also my BMWGSA needs $1700 worth of disks and brakes which will take a solid chunk out of the Harley kitty.
Starting to get excited.

Next thing I knew I was in the oncoming lane, in a blind turn, in my mental attempt to avoid the mess. A true brain fart on my part as I wasn't even going fast. Thank God no one was coming. And I've been on two wheels almost 50 years now.
Glad she wasn't scared off by the event. She may become an excellent rider because of it... tomp dd50
