picked up my new costom yesterday did about 70 miles with a couple cool downs in between.totally loved the bike.woke up to go stare at it since it was snowing again and was like WTF gas was leeking from somewhere below ignition switch and coming out low on the black leather piece going under the seat and towards the spark plugs.is it gonna screw up the paint and should the dealer pick it up at no cost to me cause i dont feel like i should risk being blown up.help please!!
Ride it back to the dealer and show them the leak.
Stock paint, you will probably only have to wait a few weeks for the warranty tank to come in.
Custom paint, may be a few months or more.
Hopefully the dealer won't break anything when they do the changeover.
Bad luck. Maybe it's not really a leak.

You can look under the cover of the gas tank to see if all of the sealing screws are torqued down. A loose screw on the fuel pump cover WILL cause gas to leak down by the seat.
Yes, it may be just a loose screw at the dealership that is causing the problem. You'd think they'd check all of that as part of the pre-delivery check, but I guess not. I hope it is not a big problem, but boy, the 07's just seem to keep on having problems.
called the dealer today he says thiers a vent under there and thats normal but bring it in hill take a look at it.i told him he was crazy im prety sure thiers wireing under the ignition and im afraid the things gonna blow up.he agreed to come pick up.wish me luck!! your bikes pretty sweet mud!!
There is a vent under there, with a rubber tube that slips over it. The rubber tube comes loose quite easily. I had the same trouble at some point in the past.
I fixed mine. Slipped the tube back on, and then cinched it down with a zip tie, and clipped off the excess. No more loose tube. Ever.
The paint will be fine. Gas shouldn't effect it at all. Just clean it up good.
The dealer called me at work today, and said the tank is not fixable and he is not sure how long it will take before a new one will come inI payed alot of money for this friggin' thing and i'de rather be out ridding then waiting for 2-3 weeks for a new tank to come in. I also noticed that oil leaking on the front of the bike. Do you think I got a lemon? Is there anyting I can do, Like get another bike or somthing? or get my money back
