Default New Dyna Owner

I pulled the trigger and traded off my 2013 Street Glide to a family friend. In trade I got a 2001 Dyna T-Sport plus cash obviously. Getting ready to buy a house so I needed to free up some money, and also don't have the time to ride enough to justify the money I had tied up in the Street Glide.

I am still unsure how I feel about the T-Sport. Part of me wants to pull the fairing, bags, and comfy seat off to go for the club style look, but I know the T-sports are fairly rare so I'd hate to destroy the value of the bike.

The T-sport is in mint condition and completely stock with the exception of screamin eagle slip ons, and has 24k on it. I might end up selling it to get a 06-07 low rider or street bob. I would feel less guilty about customizing one of those that the T-sport.

I'm going to open it up and check out the cam tensioners, but is there anything else I should look for on this bike? Or any opinions on selling it to pick up a low rider or street bob to tear apart. I'll get some pics posted up once I get home after the holidays.

Thanks for the input!

If you bought the Dyna to free up money to buy a house, leave it alone. Don't tear into it, don't modify it or sell it. All of that will take money you want for the house.

I'm talking putting probably $1000 max into it. I'm loan free for the bike so it leaves me some money to play with. I've got to do something to it to be happy with the bike, other wise I won't even want to ride it. I think the T-Sport fairing is the most hideous thing ever put on a Harley. From the factory anyways.

Maybe it's just the chrome trim around the headlight on the factory fairing that bothers me. The one posted above doesn't look bad.

You could kill two birds with one stone buy putting on a matte black vinyl wrap. There is a guy on here that did one on a switch back. With that wrap the bike would be the perfect club style look. That would be relatively in expensive plus it would be "customized" Plus that could be removed without affecting collectors value of the bike.

Keep the bags and fairing on....t sport is the ultimate base for a club style bike. Guys spend thousands to make their bikes look like a t sport. If you want that style for minimal money, throw on a 2 into 1 pipe, a seat that you like and some t bars or risers with mx bars, and your all set.

Tell me Sunshine about these club bikes. as the clubs round here surely have this all wrong being they have many different models and styles of Harley's

The term "club style" is generally accepted to refer to a dyna with a 1/4 fairing, tall bars, etc. This doesn't mean guys in clubs don't use different bikes. There's no need to be a p**** about it.

I know nothing about the model but a quick google image search had me really impressed. Like all Harley's it seems like an incredible canvas. My search pulled up a lot of club styled 2001 t-sports as well. I would keep it!
