replacement battery
any one use a exide replacement battery, we have them at work and I can get one while I'm there. want to know if they hold up, or should I stop at the dealership and pay the difference.
I test batteries for a major supplier , everything from lithium to conventional acid batteries . I cant tell you brands I test but stay away from all conventional acid batteries , agm batteries are pretty good no matter what brand , if you want another Harley battery but not price buy a deka from autozone they are made by same manufacturer . lithium batteries are the next gen battery , everything will go to them soon but right now you have the first lithium batteries and they had to heat up a little to start good , second gen was much better they don't turn over slow and get faster like first ones but if you ever run one completely dead its toast or you ever pull to many amps on start up its toast ( well the safety bridge is toast ) but for a normal Harley lithium batteries rock , the spin faster , they do not run down fast on starting and some even come with cool led lights to show how charged they are , oh and the are around 3lbs not 15lbs
now to answer your question exide battery is good for about 3 to 5 years on harley

the exide battery we have at work is a agm type battery, and I use a tender when the bike is sitting for over a day, so I think that is the way I'll go. I can buy 2 of these for the price of one from the dealer. thanks for the help.
