Really looking forward to what works for you. I just uploaded my current auto tune from the FP3 to V&H, as they said they'd be happy to adapt based on the cam specs. Curious as to how it will go and if I auto tune again after or need a new tuner
Did you mean Power Vision -2 tuner? If so, no you do not have to go back to stock. Both the SE pro tuner and PVs are flash tuners and can manipulate the tune no matter what has been previously altered. I will say this, a highly qualified tuner should be able to tune your bike with either set up.
Might be able to find a better starter map with the PV especially using Fuel Moto, but I seriously doubt it would match a proper dyno tune from a reputable tuner. Very few PV users know how to work/modify the Spark Advance Tables, and there are other limitations running PV Basic that are not encountered on a dyno. Don't get me wrong, I love my PV but if I had a choice between buying a new PV to replace my SE pro tuner or find a reputable dyno tuner that knows how to tune with SE tuner - well give me the dyno tune. Usually it will not be at HD Dealership.
My Tuner (powervision) Was a gift for work i done. I not sure where it came from as i did not have a receipt. That being said fuelmoto was no help o me for maps. So i auto tuned it in basic to get the VE tables set. And then i just started playing with it using commonsense of course. There was a nice gentleman on here that we worked through a few things on maps. But to answer your question mine is pretty much all done on my computer. I also am running mine in open loop only and it flies !!!
Hmmm so it seems that I need to get my dyno money refunded and go elsewhere.
Just a shame that they would blow smoke up someone's *** and give a bike back that runs rough in one spot.
Nothing a dealership does surprises me anymore. I no longer go to them. Found a really good indy that does all my work . . . they also do tuning. One time (after me raising hell about the bad tune with the SE tuner) the service manager at HD personally tuned my bike as he said he REALLY knew the SE inside and out. I picked the bike up . . . . drove off and the bike died at the first red light. The SOB had no clue what he was doing! THAT was when I went in and raised holy hell and had the TTS installed like I wanted and had the main tuner (who knew TTS inside and out) tune it (all at their expense!). I was pissed as I had been screwing with them and a bad tune for months, even though they tuned it three times with the SE TRYING to get it right! It all has to do with the person tuning it. These dealerships will lie and BS you to death. If I were you, I would find a really good indy tuner and have it done right to get the most out of your cams. The tuner you have should be fine IF the guy really knows what he is doing with it.

Timing needs retarded in the cruising ranges for starters. I assume your bike is kinda bucking/ missing slightly at cruising speeds. That's what mine did until I pulled timing back some and got the ve's better dialed in. So were you actually charged for the dyno tune with that as a result? The answer they gave you is crap. Ask them to pull some timing in cruise ranges 2-2500 by around 4 deg for starters and lose some accell enrichment. Should take form from there. They may also just not have the best dyno operator as 10 hrs is overkill for the produced result. I still haven't dynoed yet. I may not ever.
Wasting your money. The se pro tuner is fine. Find a shop that can tune.
Exactly this....the SEPST is one of the best tuners on the market, along with the TTS. The Andrews 57H cams are great cams, and if the bike is tuned right you wouldn't be having this issue.
The problem is not with the SEPST, or with the cams, it is your dyno tune.
Some people may be happy with a base map that is close, but there is no substitute for a PROPER dyno tune.
Find another shop, and have it dyno tuned again by someone who knows what they're doing. I'm running Wood 5-6 cams (which have a very similar grind to the Andrews 57H) with SEPST, and my bike is as smooth as glass at all rpms. Difference is I have a good dyno tuner..
