I've played with the angle on the stock mini apes on my SB, still seems like a bit of a reach during some maneuvers. I think I'm going to look at some bars.
From a comfort and bringing the bars slightly closer to me standpoint, I'm pretty happy with the current height, definitely do not want to go any higher. If I did T-Bars from Westcoast, would those have more pull back than what I have now do you think or would I be better off with a drag style that had risers that pull backwards a bit along with bars that pull back?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'd like nice style but would really like to get my hands perhaps two inches closer than with the stock apes.
I had the same prob with my bob. Im only 5'7" and slow manuvers I had to reach to much for my liking. I went with carlini clean sweeps, but I went with the 5". They are much more comfortable for me. They do make them in 7" and 9" both of those have more pullback. I have to say I am bias with the lower drag bar look not a huge fan of tall riser t bars. You could also take a look at harley street slammer bars.

Thanks! I'm exactly the same height and will take a look.

I think I could and will look at that as well, but right now the risers can't be much more than an inch or two long and I'd prefer not go up in height but I could look at that as an option. It seemed at first that risers were easily $120 so I figured I should look at bars as well
Check out gtsouth's original handle bar set up in his profile pics(it is on a Wide Glide). He had HD 6"(tall)pull back risers with drag bars(think they pull back 1.7"), he is currently changing to apes.
If you want something a bit different, maybe consider buckhorn bars. They are like mini-apes, but the grips angle back rather than out sideways.
Older-school chopper style that you don't see much these days... I met a guy a few weeks back with a set on his SB. Looked cool, I thought. That said, not sure the wrist angle looks entirely comfortable.
