Have you lubed the cable recently? Is it frayed at any place? Is the cable pinched or kinked? There's a plethora of things to check on. Better get busy

Have you checked the friction screw under the grip?

try moving the throttle out from the end of the handlebar.

Throttle and return cables may be a little tight, there needs to be a little slack in there. Loosen off the cable adjuster locknuts, slack the adjusters maybe half turn and see if throttle still sticks. At full close and wide open you should see the throttle and return cables slack off the throttle belcrank a tad once the stops are hit. Throttle should snap closed when released. May also want to inspect the throttle return spring at the belcrank... make sure it's doing its job and not broken.

Don't forget to re-tighten the lock nuts when yer done.

do you have aftermarket grips? I have Performance Machine grips and they started sticking a little bit. there was a little grime building up on the actual grip in the housing. so i just wiped it and sprayed wd-40 on it...good to go.

There is a small plastic shoe on the inside of the throttle housing on the other side of that thumb screw. I've had a buddy's come separated and sit ajar in there causing a sticky throttle. This can happen by unscrewing the screw too far and then screwing it back in but having it miss the center hole in the shoe.
