Leather vs vinyl Le Pera
Leather seat:
durable
looks great
not a problem with rain if taken care of properly
con:
With a bare bones type of seat a vinyl is more comfortable. Leather is stiffer and doesn't relax like vinyl does.
Vinyl:
easily cleaned
they are now very durable as compared to yesteryear
Have to use water proofing other wise you might sit in a water filled seat.
less costly
I use Doc Baily's on both my leather and vinyl seats for years with good results.
I put it on when I am through riding for the day. Next day I buff it out. Only problem using it on vinyl is it has to be buffed really good as vinyl does not absorb it as good as leather. The seat looks new when finished. There are other treatments that are as good.
