Default 1997 Wide Glide

Hey boys,

My dad has a 1997 wideglide, and I was wondering if anyone knows what size the forks are? are they the 49mm? bigger? smaller?

What years of parts are generally inter-changeable?

We got the bike used for about 2200 bucks. Hell of a steal. I think it only has like 50k miles?

Anyways, anything special we should watch out for? Gonna be getting him the manual for it soon, we do our own work on our bikes for the most part.

Purrciate it.

I would measure the diameter with a caliper to be sure, however, earlier Wide Glides had 39mm forks like the sportster. 2000-2005 are 41mm, then they went to 49mm. This is NOT the same as regular Dynas.

Older Wide glides are 41mm, they have never been 39mm....Some people put wide triple trees on 39mm forks in a vain attempt to make them look like a Wide Glide, but it never looked very good.
