Default Thunderheader

I've got an 06 FXDWGI. 88 cu in engine with SE heavy breather, Vance and Hines Big Shots, and SE super tuner.

I want to get rid of the V&H Big Shots and go with a thunderheader. Will I have to have my ECM recalibrated, have it dyno'd and all that? Or can I just swap the pipes myself and run it as is?

I'd think since you already have after market pipes on it, you would be good to go

You should have it dyno'd to get the most out of the TH, you are switching to a 2-1 which is for performance, not tuning it would make the switch pointless.

Just my $0.02

I'm sure it'll run without a "problem" but the MAP isn't going to be correct or running at optimal performance by any stretch. At that point there is nothing beneficial really. I'd be willing to bet the bottom will be a bit soggy and run a little rich. If you're good with a bit of loss in power and just want some sound then don't worry about it. I'm **** about how my machines run and that would bother the h3ll out of me. New pipe = New Tune in my book, no matter how big or small the change is.

True Dat! Now that is the disadvantage of harley tuners, you need them dialed in on a machine. However if you had it dynoed once I reccomend bringing it back to the same guy that way he can do a few adjustments and it may not cost you the price of a brand new setup.
