I was talking too the guy at the Harley shop and he was telling me it would be tough to get a triple digit hp bike with those pipes.. Thought and opinions?
I'm sure you would have no problem getting over 100hp on any pipe if you had the right build. If you insist on NOT getting a 2-1 pipe (which will give you the best performance)
I would strongly reccomend the V&H big shots. They are one of the best performing 2-2 out there for the price.
I had the big radius and SE heavy breather on before I did my engine work. The numbers with the pipe and AC were 89TQ and 68HP. The nubers after are in my sig.
I had a V&H 2into 2 big radius on my 2006 RK and the pipes look great etc but there was a was definitely a seat of the pants power difference from other full length pipes I had on it before. If your looking for best HP option you cant go wrong with a good 2 into 1
I have the big radius 2 into 2 and I got great numbers with a rsd air cleaner and sert dyno tuned. I think it was a happy dyno but my numbers were 85hp and 98tq. You can get more out of a 2 into 1 but its way better than stock that's for sure!
the big shots in my opinion sound a hell a lot better than the big radius 2 by 2 pipes mine made 105hp/108tq on my 107 build. a friend has a 106 build with big radius pipes only got 95hp/98tq out of it.
It won't be worse then stock but why spend all that money on a build only to have a "weak link" just because you like the looks better.
I swore I would never go to a 2-1 because i hated the looks...The pro pipe was the first one I actually like the look of...If I didn't go 2-1 I would have gone big shots as they look, sound, and perform great....perform close to a 2-1
Have you heard the sound of the big radius? I personally think they are too loud (and I like loud pipes) and too high of pitch...I like the deeper roar...but everyones different
Get the pipe you like, they both will be better than stock! If your straight looking for performance go 2into2 if you want good performance not the best and a great sounding/looking pipe get a 2 into 2 imo
