Thoughts on 2006 Maintenance
Street bob owned since new has 60000 miles, doing some maintenance before a five week journey this summer. I have done all repairs so far myself and with knowledgeable friends help up to this point (IPB,stator and rotor and injectors).I am replacing all wheel, steering head and swing arm bearings. brake pads. The primary chain tensioner looks good, should I replace it anyway? Going to pull inner primary and check IPB (not making any noise when in neutral) but if shut engine off and coast I can hear growling from this area, I am not leaking any oil,do not see any wet spots around pulley. Maybe main drive gear bearing going? If it is, just use a stock Harley part? What else should I look for? How about fuel pump ? Think I will change the fuel filter. I have the service manual and kept up on service schedule. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks,Lance.
