Another thing to consider is whether or not you will have to get a new primary chain if you change the compensator tooth count. On the pulley swap you are usually good for +/- 2 teeth, not sure about the primary chain.
Baker has a 28 tooth compensator sprocket, good for a 9% reduction in RPM and, of course, a 9% reduction in torque.
"You won't win any drag races!" Mark tells me. Dammit. Can't have it both ways, I guess.
Has anyone done this? I'm thinking I oughta see how she goes before adding the sprocket. If a 27 was available, for a 6%, I might be more apt to try it...
It's a no brainer as far as hiway speeds, but the drop in torque as a trade-off is scaring me away. But, should it be...?
If the 111 is anything like this 124 I have, it's not going to mind the extra rpms on the freeway. The motor revs so smooth, it's nothing like the stock one shook. I can damn near read license plates out of my mirrors
The SE spring will be fine, but if you have the funds and don't want to think about it ever again....not to mention have a lighter clutch pull and a ton more grab then get yourself one of these $500 clutch & hub setups:
Rivera Pro Clutch, Barnett Scorpion, Evolution Industries terminator, Bandit Sportsman
Yup, pay now or pay later....
As far as the 27 comp, I have one on one of my bikes, you can get one thru V Twin mfg, or moto hub.
Baker has the chain, ask for James, he will hook you up with the right one.
As far as Illusion, they don't make their combo set up anymore.
Price was high anyway...
Think I'll save up for the OD6, vs. The 27 or 28 now. And I agree, it's gonna be a new clutch. Just can't make up my mind on which! haha First world problems!
I am using the primo pro clutch and baker OD6 on my 113. I really like the primo clutch. It will handle anything I throw at it with ease.
Had the lower 3 gears changed for a better launch, went higher slightly. The torque takes care of it easy enough. As far as going with higher gearing. There is a point where higher gearing will give Lower et's. it's the torque that does it. I wouldn't want mine geared any lower. I'm not into wheelies.
