What grade of oil are you asking about?

I just received the primary oil along with my engine oil.
looks good enough to give it a try.
My tranny always had the amsoil severe gear
I believe its better than it has to be and that's fine with me. . going to stick with that,

I didn't get any notices on that yet. I'll have to give it a try next oil change.

I currently run
V-Twin on the engine and trans
severe gear in the trans

Before I tried 10w40 in the primary, but I like the engine oil better in the primary. Seems smoother and easier to fine neutral vs the 10w30.

I'm curious about this new stuff.

Anyone else find the product description humorous?

"The main recommendation for motorcycle transmissions and primary chaincases remains AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (consult the Motorcycle Product Guide at www.amsoil.com for specific product recommendations). For current motorcycle customers who use AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil, there’s no need to change anything.

Although many bikers can attest to its outstanding performance in these applications and use AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil without reservation, some motorcyclists are locked in on the belief that a motor oil cannot adequately protect motorcycle transmissions and chaincases. Instead, they prefer lubricants that are clearly labeled for their intended applications. AMSOIL has now satisfied this demand with AMSOIL Synthetic V-Twin Transmission Fluid and AMSOIL Synthetic V-Twin Primary Fluid. They are specifically designed for bikers who are reluctant to use multi-use lubricants, offering a full line of products to appeal to everyone. "

They still recommend using motor oil over these new products. Interesting....

Maybe it's the same stuff, just re-labled for those that can't take amsoil's word for it or too scared to try things.

I got some of the trans and primary coming along with some shock therapy and motor oil. The tech line stated that the trans and primary are like a 75-120 gear oil. Not super expensive so worth a try. With 25% off 4qts oil, 2qts shock therapy, and qt each of trans and primary was $90 to my door.
