Default Heavier duty jiffy stand spring?

I'm about to install a "jiffy stand-long" on my FXD to reduce the currently increased lean angle due to the taller ohlins shocks I installed. My current spring feels a little "limp" i.e. It doesn't have the "snap" I would think it should. I'll definitly get a new spring from the dealer, but I was thinking if a heavier spring was available, I'd give that a try. Doesn't need to be chrome. Any ideas? Thanks.

Ther is really no reason for the spring to have physically weakened. It doesn't heat up and is not overstretched when in use. What I might suggest rather than going to by a new spring is to dis-mantle your current spring and the mechanism that holds it in and clean out the grease and grime from road wash and occasional oil spilling during other maintenance jobs. ASk me how I found out!

What is the PN for the stand you are going to use?
Wife complained her bike leaned over so far on the stand it was sometimes difficult to hoist upright before riding; I also noticed it didn't always retract completely. The block the stand swivels in was pretty sloppy, so I installed an oilite bushing and I added a fraction of an inch of weld to the top of the tab on the stand that engages the slot in the frame when extended out. Viola! Stand now operates smooth as silk and the bike is a bit more upright when it's out. Did the same mod to my bike just because it works so well

I agree with huffhuff but the one thing to add to that procedure is that upon taking the bolt and locking tab off, move the kickstand forward which relieves all tension on the spring and is very easy to take on & put back on with no pliers or any other tool.

If you don't have a lift, get one. Even if it's a cheap one. It will help you in so many ways. Maybe a service manual too. Lots of good stuff in one.

When I bought my Dyna last summer I felt the OEM spring seemed weak so I cleaned everything up and tossed on a new OEM spring and same deal. I then tried an aftermarket spring from Drag Specialties and same deal again. The springs I’ve used have always done the job but it’s always been limp compared to the stock spring on my Sportster so I get where you’re coming from.

Good advice here
keep in mind that lean angle when on the stand is dictated by the mechanism “slop”

retraction is a function of the spring strength/tension

2 different things in my experience
