Default Cable Kit Options

I'm looking at different cable kit options and was looking for suggestions from you guys. I currently have the stock cables and bars on a 2014 Fatbob but have 10" Wild1 T-bars on the way and want everything I need before I start taking it apart.

I was looking at the burly cable kits as the price seems about right but am totally open to suggestions. What all will I need? I'm safely assuming the stock setup won't be long enough for 10" bars.

You never know, some or all of the stock cables may work. I was able to use all my stock cables and wiring with 12" apehangers, just had to reroute the throttle cables which took 10 minutes.

Cable kits are always, and I mean always, waaaay overpriced. Do yourself a favor, wait till the bars get there, mount em' up and if the stock cables won't work, measure for what you need. Then go to http://www.motionpro.com/ for a less expensive option of vinyl wrapped cables, or https://www.magnumshielding.com/inde...te=common/home if you want to spend a little more for quality braided cables. Magnum has 3 different color coatings, polished stainless, Sterling Chromite, and Black Pearl. I'm in the process of switching over to all Black Pearl cables since I'm putting on 14" apehangers and they all gotta get switched.

I've used the burly kit in the past. Great kit for the price.

I may be wrong, but I dont think the burly kit comes with the front brake lines for the fatbob. Kits for them seem to be quite a bit more expensive because of the dual fronts

Good catch. I forgot the Fat Bob was dual disc like my 97 FXDS. I ended up replacing the oem lower assembly with one from Magnum Shielding.

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated. I didn't even consider the dual discs either. The more I think about this the more I'm considering just taking it to a local shop. I'm not a pro by any means

Be prepared to pay big $$. I've heard of handlebar and cable swaps being quoted well over a grand. You don't have to be a pro to do the work, a factory service manual and basic mechanical skills are all you need if you are patient and take your time.

I've switched bars twice on my 2010 Fatbob. I'd suggest doing it yourself. Get the service manual, then get your new bars, mount them up and then figure out how much length over stock you need. Magnum Shielding was my choice and they were great to work with. Good luck!
