Hello from Boise, ID everyone; First post but long time lurker.
After years of riding metrics, I recently purchased a 2007 Street Bob with 14" apes. (the blue one with lots of cosmetic changes needed below). I do love apes and want to ride them often (thinking that with the BareBones seat and at 5'9" I will need to drop down to 12's though), but I also REALLY love drag bars. More than anything else, I love versatility and switching up my ride often.
I don't mind a bit of extra cable when I drop down to the drags for fun and for getting my cockpit behind a shield in the winter. But, coming from 14"s??? That seems like a tall order.
My Road Star (black bike below) cables were stretched all the way out at 10" mini apes and still had plenty of cable to deal with when I mounted 6" drag bars.
Anyone else shifting between apes and drags without changing out the cables?

I did the same thing on the same exact bike. I went from the mini apes to carlini cleansweeps. I ended up changing all the cables they were just too long. You can prob get away with not but hiding the excess cable might be tough. Good luck and enjoy that bob I absolutely love mine.

Thanks dzzbob. I took a look at your profile. Those bars look great on your bike.
