While out riding yesterday, I saw a Dyna with a small oval engine guard that was painted gloss black. It was real minimal and almost disappeared into the bike. It had a real clean and sleek look to it and I would like to put one on my 03 WG. I saw but couldn’t read the manufacturers tag, but it did appeared to be a factory painted engine guard and not one that the owner modified. Does anybody here know who manufactures the painted, oval engine guards for a HD? Thanks much, BB
Bob,
Not sure who makes it but I just put on my ride Sunday and what I did was I got one off a buddies dyna that he set on its side in a gravel parking lot and well kinda tore it up a bit. The crome on the underside of the one side was scratched off good and had some good scratches down to the metal of the tube, anyways I got it for free. It had a slight tweek in it, so I just used a rosebud and heated it up to good and red and then bent it back straight, let it cool, used some 80 grit sandpaper on the whole thing and then prim. it and then shot it with flat black spay paint. I have the Denim black bob and you are correct, it does just about disappear into the bike. I really like how it looks like nothing is there, but the comfort is great! Just my 2 cents worth.
