I just installed a TH on my bike, it pops like crazy and I am all stock except for the exhaust at this point. You have to remember, TH has next to no baffle. Just some fiberglass packing around the cone that burns off, so it will pop a lot more than your stock or even VH pipes will. Personally, I love it...but in your case a tune might help it a little, but I don't think it will ever disappear with a TH.

To sum it up, the less baffle you have in your exhaust means the more popping you get. Even with a proper tune.
i have a 2015 dyna. I just put thunderheaders and stage one air cleaner and the stage 1 download but I still have a ton of deceleration pop. what should I do short of getting it dyno cause im not made of money hence military.really appreciate the help guys!

A flash tuner such as the V&H fp3 or the Super Chips Vigilante will eliminate 99.9% of decel popping and your bike will run much better. Easy to use and less the a 1 hr install. $150-$300.

yes, the th does have a baffle, actually 2 baffles. It has a perforated baffle with packing behind it that will NOT come out, and the square cone baffle. The pop can be completely eliminated with tuning, but if you know what to adjust you can really make it sound however you want on decel. Personally I like just a little pop and gurgle on decel with a th.
Just a tuning device might not eliminate or even help the pop. Knowing what to do with the fuel and timing tables at closed throttle is what will fix it, and it can be easily done without a dyno.

One of my bikes is a popper. Doesn't bother me, and it doesn't hurt anything.
I had the same issue, then I had my local dealer download a map using my Screaming Eagle Super Pro Tuner. The first map left a lot of popping on decel so I took it back today, they reduced the decel tables and now it runs like a raped ape! It's got tons of power/speed and the decel is gone.
That's what I did, you choose your own method but it does need to be tuned using one of the many tuners. Good luck in your choice.
Reguardless what the OP gets the HD download is useless and a waste of money from everything I have read here and from what I have witnessed on my buddies bike.
