No problem. Ask if you have any problems with the install. Pretty straight forward. I'm trying to figure out how to strap a backpack to the bar with out it dipping down onto the fender. Don't want to use bungee chords either. This bag will likely remain on the bike. This is the bag I'm using, or one very similar. Its small but has nice zippered external pockets for wallet/glasses/sunblock etc.

This is what i did on mine. Set it up so that I can still use it as a backpack if neeed, though it will probably stay on the bike most of the time. I am running a backrest pad, but another strap could be added to the bottom if you don't have the waist strap on the bottom/don't have a 2up seat that keeps it off the fender.

Pretty smart. I've got a few ideas. Just haven't had any time unfortunately.

I got a Fieldline NB001-WM Motor Cycle Pack. It's made to slip over the sissy bar and you can also just wear it like a regular backpack which I'm currently doing because I haven't ordered a new sissy bar for the new bike yet.

I was thinking about this one:

Another no-relocating signal option

edit: they also have a tall version for $285

As long as you are not expecting a $450 bar then you'll be happy.

Why isn't it going on your bike? Please explain. Not good quality?

I'm overall happy with my El Heffe. I had to grind out the side plates for them to fit and I scratched the eff out of my fender getting it on. Be much better if I didn't have to grind out the side plates but for 139 dollars I can't complain

Speaking of this; to anyone installing a one piece bar/bracket setup like this, use masking tape to protect your paint during install! It is very easy to scratch the crap out of things trying to slide the side plates in.

Default EL Hefe Pics and Review

EL HEFE Pics and Review

So after I received a private message from a fellow forum member about some flaws in his EL Hefe I decided to take a closer look at my bar. The message indicated his bar had marks from clamps and the bends in his bar were not symmetrical. My bar does in fact have small marks from clamps and some "popcorning" near the welds. The bar looks symmetrical to me. If its not, it is not noticeable to the naked eye. As far as the marks go they're not noticeable unless you take a close look. Also, the finish on the bar isn't extremely glossy. It still has a gloss to it but its kind of between satin and gloss if you will.

Installation was pretty straight forward. I did have to grind the mounting holes in the side plates about 1/16's to get it to fit. I need to pass this info onto slim. I would recommend covering your fender to protect it. Someone suggested masking tape. I put light scratches into my fender during install. Again not terribly noticeable but its worth taking an extra minute to protect your paint. I also took a small jack under the frame to lift the suspension for more room between the fender and rear tire to allow more space to work. Both wheels stayed on the ground.

I'm happy with this bar. I've never had any of the other competitors but you can't beat the El Hefe price. Its a solid bar. If I could make my own I would, but this was a great solution and product for me. Mine is the 27 inch bar.

Hey,

2 quick questions, Fireguy88...I have ordered a seat from Sick Saddles with the passenger pillion... 1. would the pillion fit with the bar on? 2. is it sturdy enough for a passenger to lean on?

Thanks!
