missing the power
Ok, ive been riding metric sportbikes my whole adult life. Last year I bought my first harley (love it), but now I find myself looking for the hp rush you get on a sportbike. I cant ride sportbikes anymore, my body wont allow it
. I bought the street bob bc it was comfortable for me and I just want to cruse. I just bought a se stage 2 upgrade. Im pretty sure I dont want to use the 255 cams that came with, but I dont want to do any headwork any time soon. Every time I think I find a cam I want I second guess myself. I like to feel the power come on with the rpms like im used too on my sportbikes of the past. I dont really care about hp numbers. What im looking for is when im cruising and I grab a handful of throttle I want to move. Im running crossbacks and a pcv. Im looking at a power vision but need help deciding on a cam. Here are a few ive been looking at- se211, s&s mr103, feuling 543,574 and andrews 57h. Ive looked at woods just dont know if they are worth the extra $ as I dont plan on head work. Thanks in advance
The power of a sportbike? Were you riding literbikes? The torque of my Harley far exceeds any power I ever felt on a sportbike(I too came from sportbikes). The Harley obviously doesn't have the top end of a sportbike, but up to 80-90, the torque of mine still surprises me to this day and I'm at almost 9,500 miles on it. Granted, I do want more power also, but I'm just a horsepower junkie. Haha. My plan is for a Stage IV 103" eventually and that should be enough for me.
Sorry yes, mostly liter bikes(cbr 954 was the last liter bike) but the one I traded in on the harley was a 13' gsxr 750, it dynoed at 130hp 61tq. I regeared it lower and at crusing speed (5000-6000 rpm) In 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear I couldnt grab a handful of throttle without the front standing straight up. I know tq is what get you moving and hp keeps you pulling at higher rpms. So I guess the main question is which cam along with the bb kit will give me that pull from cruising speed (2500-3000rpm) to about 5,500 rpm?
i've a 106 Big Bore along with the 574 cams and it pulls hard from standstill to well after i'm willing to hold on!
it doesnt seem like many people have them (Hi Windex) but those that do love em

I know what you mean. I went with the SE Stage III Pro 103 kit. P/N 27544-10A. Perfect! Give it a look. There's some pretty good deals online. Just Google the P/N.

Cam wise, I got nothing. Let the more experienced power masters weigh in on that one.
Every time I think I settle on one I see anoyher that looks good. I like not following the crowd thats why I liked the feuling, the .574 lift kinda scares my with stock springs. I like everything ive seen on th 57h. The s&s look good too but then again .585 lift seems alot on stock springs, the response I got from s&s is no worries it will be fine. I think ive read just about every thead about theses cams and my head is spining.
07 Street Bob here, stock springs... my indy didn't seem concerned, then after test riding the build he ordered them for his dyna!
i can empathise with the choices, it's confusing as all heck and i had no idea if i'd even notice the difference between them... one thing's for sure, it's a massive difference from stock
