Just bought a replacement rear highway bar for my 80 low rider, because of aftermarket exhaust it doesn't fit. It looks like the old one was bent to fit. Can someone recommend the type of place to take it? One shop recommended a muffler shop but I'm not certain if they are proficient in dealing with chrome. Another doesn't bend chrome cuz it cracks.
Looks like they heated it to bend it. Also looks like ****. I would try the exhaust shop, but get a price to have it chromed after it gets f'd up. I am sure there is a chrome plater in your area. If you can't find one, check your local hot rod shops, they will know.
Yeah, it looks a little rough, but that part is behind the exhaust, can't see any of that end when it's assembled. Precisely why I didn't notice it when I ordered the new one.
