OK, I think I have it backwards. The Severe Gear is for the trans and the Super Shift is for the primary.

Right?

Default Trans and primary...

The dealer sold me Severe Gear for the trans and the Super Shift for the primary....Right?

I know many will have opinions on what should and shouldn't be used, by preference, but I'm just looking to make sure these will work for the given application...

No big deal. Fill up your gas tank, check your fluids, tire air pressure and battery. Start it up and ride.

I put a Buell Ulysses away with a double shot of StaBil and on a tender for three years. Decided I would ride it. Fired up on the first turn. Aired the tires up and went for a ride.

With 17 bikes they essentially sit for a year before they get their two weeks use. StaBil and a tender is all that I have ever done. Never an issue over the many years. Change the oil every two years.

On the label fresh StaBil used in the double dose amount will treat gas for two years. Three worked fine for me and it was E10 stuff.

Amsoil sucks! Only use HD oil or you'll void the motor.

Let the fun begin...in 3, 2, 1. ;^)

Honestly, I can't answer your question though. Not up on the Amsoil products.

Yeah, good luck with that!

Hope it continues to work for you. But I'm pretty sure it will only lead to problems for you though

Due to the different qualities of gas and blends of ethanol, we had changed the claim to guarantee 12 months of storage a couple years back. Keep in mind that we are a conservative company. We limit the number of claims on our labels and we make sure the formula can do at least what the label claims it can.

With that said, three years is a long time. There are any number of variables that can contribute to the gas being usable at that time frame (quality of gasoline, high quality fuel stabilizer, storage conditions, etc.). Even when the equipment does fire up, there is likely at least a little gum & varnish formation due to extreme storage lengths. Over time, that may cause problems. We would suggest sticking to the claims of your fuel stabilizer of choice to help ensure you won't have any issues.

Let us know if you have any questions!

My bikes are stored in a climate controlled garage at 65 in the winter and 72 in the summer. No condensation build up. Prior to the bikes I had sports cars (5) and stored them in the same manner.

I have successfully stored vehicles for almost two decades without an issue with fuel or batteries. Attended many seminars on storing collector vehicles over the years.

So my success in storing vehicles speaks to me so loudly that I can't hear the naysayers. E10 in HD's is okay as HD has the fuel system engineered to accommodate it as the auto industry has. In fact use 87 octane E10 with iridium plugs and leave the engine stock it will out perform a stage I set up in power with 91 or higher octane.. It burns more completely during the power stroke than higher octane "pure" gas and burns cleaner. There is 115,000 BTU's in a gallon of summer gas. The higher the octane the less is burned. HP is a specific number of BTU's. So the more burned in the power stroke the more power is made.

The only other strategy that I use is having the gas tank full when it is put away. I used to cover them but grew tired of installing and removing them.

The current owner of two of them uses them even less than I did and he handles it the same as I did.
