Which is why I would buy some shorter shocks if I wanted to lower the rear of my bike. I did want to lower the rear so I bought some 12" shocks and it has never bottomed out. Plenty of people on here have done this and yes it works. Unless I am not understanding your post. You want to put a softail swing arm on your dyna to lower the rear of the bike. While anything can be done with enough money you would be better off selling your dyna and buying a softail. If you just want the rear end lowered buy some shorter shocks like everyone else does.
If you ride solo, you can go as low as 11 inch on the shocks on a DYNA, 10" on a Sporty. See pic below. 11" Progressive 412 heavy Duty shocks. You could do a weld on hardtail, if you want, but 11" shocks are jsut as low, and look mean as hell on there!

I've looked and can't find anyone that makes a weld on hard tail for a Dyna...If you know of one please post it up. I know atlas makes a hard tail frame for a Dyna...
Weld on hardtails are available for the older DYNA's......you could buy one and adapt to fit on what you have. Jireh cycles advertises a few, and does J&P Cycles...... There are also companies that will take your frame and make a hartail back end for it.
