It also helps that the VTX is shaft drive, faster hookup in my opinion, if your main goal is to spin the tire then you should be able to do that out of the box for sure with stage 1.
But as stated before, there is no replacement for displacement.
Are tires cheaper where your from? Here in VA a rear sneaker is about 2 bills...Thats alot of coin to waste...Who cares if you can break a tire free, the tire is designed to grab and hold...It's doing its job...Something to think about...Later
Oh ... It'll spin ... Are you sure you're actually twisting the throttle ? A good "coming on to it" from a dead stop in 1st or 2nd should do it.
My Dad has a yamaha V-star classic ... 600 I think? ... I've ridden that around and it hasn't got half the power of a 96" HD. I had no problem at all spinnin the rear tire by dumping the clutch. Oh ya .. and if you see my Dad .. don't tell him i did that.
And what's with all the negativity towards smokin' the rear tire? I think it's great!!!!Getting snakey every once in awhile is good for the heart.
If you can afford to light it up once in a while go for it. If you like to ride your bike hard ... All the better. What's the fun in putting around all day. Ya gotta get that adrenaline pumping somehow. Scraping pegs, spinning tires, going fast .. it's all good ... just stay within your comfortzone and all is well.
I gotta agree with the statement above... what's wrong with doing a burnout once in a while if you can? To each his own, but to me it's a blast, and worth the cost of a bit of rubber.
With that said, sure these bikes will do a burnout if you try hard enough, but this kind of hard-launch burnout does not feel the same as being able to let out the clutch, twist the throttle and have the tire roast without dumping the clutch.
