Stock license plate mount
OK so I hated the factory mount until I put my solo bag on my bike but it still stuck out like a sore thumb yeah we will go with thumb... so I turned the plate side ways on the factory mount. Needless to say wind and vibration started cracking the plate.
I used a 1/8" piece of steel I had laying around to reinforce the plate.

Good idea
Yeah, I wasn't to big a fan either but I didn't like it when it was below my fender on my former bike. I discovered the mounting plate On my wide glide could be reconfigured so the lic plate hangs vertically instead of horizontally. No problems with tearing yet and it is still bolted on with all 4 screws.

Yeah the main thing I didn't care for was the holes to the right of the tag and that was the motivation to make the little bracket. I know its probably silly but just one of the little things that bugged me.
