Both bikes have there goods and bads. I had to talk myself into my FB since on looks wise I preferred SB, now after owning it and riding multiple SBs I wouldn't change my decision.

Like someone else said, when I test rode the SB it felt like my knees were in my chest due to the mid controls. That and that skinny *** front tire found EVERY nook and cranny in the road. Test rode the Fat Bob and I was sold. Felt planted. First time with forwards but everything just felt natural on it. Still find myself grinning on it from ear to ear after almost 2yrs and 10.5k miles later. I absolutely love how it handles. Especially now with the Avon Cobras on it. It's on rails. I couldn't have made a better decision for myself. And the dual headlights: I think they look badass. They fit the bike. But to each their own.

I am currently in a situation where I'm considering trading my FXDF for an FXDL (sorta similar to the FXDB ride wise). But I have to say that with mids, the right suspension upgrades, the fat bob has a more solid planted ride and handles great. The only edge I'd give to an FXDB over and FXDF (assuming all things equal) would be in the turning, due to the FXDB's thinner tires. But I think even then it would be so close as to be a minimal difference.

I think it comes down to a more aesthetics, such as rims and tires, fenders.. all that.

I love my FXDF. I was really concerned about the forward controls, as I have always been a sportbike person, and never had forward controls before. Still not 100% comfortable with them, but they (and the bike itself) don't much hinder my fun in the twisties.

I am interested to hear why you are thinking of trading to a fxdl?
