Howdy,
Getting back on the horse after a 10 year hiatus.
Looking for some advice /opinions on Street Bob or a Fat Bob. Like the look and feel of both but can't decide between the 2. Any advantages or disadvantages of one over the other, or is it purely a style question?
Your input and opinions are appreciated!
I've ridden both a few times. I can't warm up to the Fat Bobs looks. It has a better ride than the Streeter stock for stock. I feel more comfortable on the SB with its mid controls. If it were my money, I'd get the FXDC and have a nicer bike than either of the other two.
They are both great bikes. Fatbob handles a little better with fatter tires, wider front end, shorter wheel base, and twin disc brakes. I prefer the mid controls that used to be standard but only comes with forwards now so that's a bummer for some. Streetbob stills handles well, comes with mids and some prefer the traditional looks. Neither is a big wrong choice, so whichever you like best wins.
I Test rode all the dyna's before I bought my Fat Bob. I found it handled the corners and rode better over all. Unlike fella, I think the Fat Bob has a modern drag bike look. I love the forward controls, I added the "Heel Raiser Footpeg Kit 50178-09" which made all day rides very comfortable. I also like the aluminum wheels rather than the spokes. Just my 2 cents.

Ive owned both. Both are great bikes. I prefer my fat bob with its fat tires and dual front discs. The fat tires just make the ride a bit better. I have added mid pegs so i have the option of having my feet in either position. Good luck on your decision.
If it were me, between those two bikes I would go with a Street Bob.
I agree with fella, I never really warmed up to the FB's looks either.
Nothing against it, it's just not my flavor.
I prefer the look/style of the SB over the FB, but I chose the FXDC, (SuperGlide Custom).
With the FXDC you get the fat bob tank and the 2 up pegs if that is important to you.
I have my FXDC set up very similar to a Street bob currently, see pic below:
Cheers,
Tom
