This isn't on topic so sorry to hijack the thread. But does anyone know of levers that would be better for a smaller hand person? I'm unfortunately one of these type of people. I'd like for the clutch and brake lever to be easier for me to grab. I realize this is going to bring "safety" type responses but, again, I have small hands and the levers are just a bit too far for my liking.
Thanks

Can someone tell me if the stock levers of a 2014Street Bob are clearcoated or if it is the bare aluminium ? I have some little dark spots on my and would like to know how to get rid of them..

Possibly adjustable levers? That is just a picture of one kind. You can find them anywhere you can find levers. RSD is probably the most pricey ones you can find.

I believe they are coated. Not 100% sure though. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.
Any idea what can I use to remove those little dark spots ??
Not really sure. Have you tried metal polish? It is abrasive so it will "buff" out hard to remove things. I'm assuming you have tried Windex and such. Any pictures of the offending spots?
If they are coated, don't the metal polish will remove the clearcoat ?
Will try to make some pics tomorrow...
I haven't had any trouble with it. It's not super abrasive so it shouldn't damage it. Put a little bit on a cloth and rub it lightly onto the spot. Then wipe off excess. If you just sit there and grind it in like you are trying to sand something then it might damage it.
I don't use the cardboard wedge anymore when messing with the brake lever. You can shine a bright light in there and see the button/switch and avoid it easily. It's the guys that yank the lever out without knowing any better that break it.
No reason to re-adjust the clutch either just slacken the cable and re-set it to the same spot (should fit about the width of a dime in between cable and housing per the pic in the SM).
This is one of those jobs once you've done it before you'll think back on how easy it is to do. Don't forget to transfer your anti-rattle clip from your old clutch lever to the new one, assuming it hasn't fallen out yet.

Awesome, thanks! I looked at the videos and written directions from HD and thought it looked too darn easy. I figured I must be missing something. I kind of figured the thing about the switch too. Looks like if you don't try to remove everything with a prybar you would be okay. I'll use the wedge just in case anyway. I watched a video on it and the guy tossed and wiggled that thing in there like there was no tomorrow....I don't think he broke his. LOL
I'll be doing the install probably next week. Don't think I will have time before then. Crazy thing is the levers got to me in less than 10 days. All the way from China for $2.25....
