I removed these from my 2008 FXDC yesterday. I don't like the back off brake light flash unit and while I was under the seat I found what appears to be a turn signal led load equalizer. As I don't have any led bulbs in any of my lights I removed it. Nothing has changed as far as my rear brake lights and turn signals so it's staying out for now. May change back if I decide to go to led turn signals and tailights once I install my daymaker headlight. Couldn't find anything on the internet that looked like this so I'm just guessing. Seen one like this before? I am the second owner of this bike and have been surprised on several occasions with what the PO has done.
http://www.signaldynamics.com/backoffxp That came from one google search! That one is not a load equalizer it is only a module to make your light flash at first glance.
I believe the other may be a run/turn/brake module, on my 04 I have one, it keeps both the turns and the tail lite, and when you apply the brakes they all light up.
It didn't do anything. It didn't light all of the lights and didn't light them all up when the brakes were applied. No difference in or out of circuit. That's why I thought it might be a load equalizer as it is in the tail light turn signal circuit. The module with the 2 leads was a brake light flasher ( that's why I removed it).
Dude, not enough info. What you have is olde stuff, technology has advanced a ton since 04,, even 2014!!
Either your lights work or they don't,, if you don't like the flash then pull all that stuff.
Part of what's going on is the "option" of adding LED turns that compliment the LED tail light. If your bike still has incandescent turns, then the "extra" load cell is/was an option that will still work with incandescent yet offers an option of the addition of at least one set of LED turns.
(there are two set's,, front and back)
Best bet is to start from scratch if you don't know what you have.

You were right! It is H-D 69462-06D. It didn't work because the PO had cut a wire and did a bad repair job. I soldered and shrink wrapped it and it worked just as you described.
