Default feeler gauge

I wanted to try the gap range .038 to .043 but cant find a gauge that includes those sizes. Is .038 a metric size? They all come with .035 and .040.
I have them at .040 for now but thought I would try the other sizes.
Thanks
Charlie

I'd call it a .040 with the .038 to .043 the tollerance. That's basically a real tight and a real loose .040 on a wire gauge. You may find a blade type in these sizes for valve lash.

No gauge can contain every size. You will need to combine sizes. For example .035 + .003 = .038.

Ok thanks. I did see .038 but it is listed as a metric. Like the tight and loose
.040.

Default Metric Feelers

A metric gage would be calibrated in millimeters not inches so the measurement would be completely different.

A 1mm feeler gauge measures 0.03937", so just under the 0.040".
