So I've been searching for used parts for doing the mid-control swap on my FXDF. Haven't had any luck yet, so I decided to get a quote from my local stealer here in Norway. Prices are generally high up here, so I expected somewhere around $700-$1000.
it doesnt even make sense....are the pegs made of gold or something. maybe you misunderstood the guy. 1000 is more than enough to switch it out, damn most people go the other way to forward controls. you could probably get a set of take offs for next to nothing
For the 2014 FXDF don't you need a new outer primary and maybe even a new inner (not sure about the inner) in addition to everything in the link posted above. Post a pic of the primary side and we will know. And add labor to all that.
I think on the new fxdf's it's a fair bit more complicated then on other Dyna's that have mids as an option. But not 3000 more. You could probably ship the bike to the U.S. and have a shop here do it, and have leftovers. (Not literally, but close)
I'd just post ads everywhere I could, looking for somebody to swap with. If you're not in an immediate hurry, you'll find somebody to swap straight across.
