Default Stock muffler

I just replaced my stock pipes with Rush Slipons. Should I save the stock pieces? The hoarder in me says yes but honestly I don't think I'll need them.

Exhausts and all the assorted stock stuff I pull off any of my bikes ends up in the metal recycling bins at the shop, I hate a mess in my garage and I can't see the point of trying to sell that stuff, if it was worth anything I'd have left it on the bike The only time I didn't scrap the stock exhaust immediately was on my '13 FJR, I replaced it with a Two Brothers Carbon Fiber full exhaust and shipped the stock exhaust to a guy in Arizona that had dropped his bike <those FJR's are heavy suckers!> he covered the shipping saving himself major bux on a new stock replacement and I was glad to be rid of it

I put slipons on a couple years ago and my stock mufflers are still sitting in the basement. There is probably a surplus of them floating around. I think they are headed to the dumpster soon.

Last set I removed went to a friend that installed them on a Kawi Z1000P that he rebuilt. They sounded amazingly good on that IL4 engine. I left the stock ones on my current Dyna, and after four years, they have actually become somewhat louder and throatier. I'm OK with them, as the help with my hearing loss, not being so loud. tomp

FWIW, I gave him a set of stock Bonneville mufflers, too. They sounded bad on the T100, and also on the Z1000P. Some pipes are really made for the scrap heap. tp

More money than sense around here it seems. Throwing stock components away is flushing money down the toilet. There is a market for them. Sell them on evilbay. If nothing else, they'll provide some beer money.

My shop is my man cave. I Don't throw nothin away. If I don't sell what I have in a year I take it to the scrap yard. I usually get between, $300-400 each. load

This guy wants them.

I kept mine. You never know if they start enforcing noisy pipe laws, and I'll have to put stock back on. Or in 20 years some collector needs them. I still regret throwing out my spinner hubcaps from my '66 Mustang.

Keep'm.
Do you ever want to sell your bike "as original"?
or,,
"Custom bike, all original parts available"
