Default Night Dragon

So it looks like probably going to get the Pirelli Night Dragons for my wife's '11 WG. Any recommendations on tire pressure? Hoping to get a few miles out of these.

I put a night dragon on my front wheel, being slightly larger than stock it looks better. I'm using the standard 30psi which is giving a normal looking wear pattern so it must be about right. When I get a night dragon on the rear 38psi will be my starting point.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info! Do you ride solo or 2 up?

Just out of curiosity are you still running the stock Dunlop on the rear?

I just put them on my 11 wg. It feels like a totally different bike, it leans so much better now. Im running recommended 30 and 40psi. But only got about 600 miles on them so far

Any problems with having to "scrub" them? I've heard from a few that for about the first 100 miles you need to go easy to get the release chemical off them.
I'm glad to hear that people are liking them. I am much more picky when it comes to tires for my girl's bike.

I'm having a set put on tomorrow, curious to see how they perform.

I put the ND on the back of my 09 superglide this spring and very happy with it, I'll be replacing the front next week with a ND also.
I too had read about the scrubbing or miles to get the chemicals off,, I did nothing but ride,
,,I guess I didn't really notice a problem.
I mean with new tires you kind of want to get a feel for'm before you start running it hard anyways.
I've got about 7-800 on it now and I'm very comfortable with it. I'm really happy I made the Night Dragon choice.

At the moment I still have a stock Dunlop on the rear, all of my riding is solo and I have found that reducing the tyre pressure to 38 stops the tread wearing in the middle quite so quickly. As soon as this tyre is finished I will be putting a night dragon on the rear.

30 seems way low for the front. Hd recommends 38 psi front and 40 rear. Solo 38 wouldnt be an issue. When I called perelli for specs on tires before I got my wheels ordered they advised the me880 over the night dragon for treadlife and stated performance should be similar. Time will tell. Perelli owns Metzler and I didn't know that till I called perelli to ask some ?'s in widths. Call Perelli and ask a few ?'s and they are real helpful.

I ran Night Dragons on my '03 Wide Glide, I settled on 39 psi front and 41 psi rear always riding solo, 30 psi front is way too low. A simple way to accelerate the scrub in of a new tire is to find an empty parking lot and begin riding circles left then right, increasing the lean angle breaking the new shine off the tires, with modern tires manufactured using Teflon and silicone mold release the worry about 'scrubbing' isn't nearly as great as in years past...
