I installed my detachable bags last night using easy brackets. The brackets are great, high quality, I'm very happy with them.
What I'm not happy with is the squeak I've developed while riding. The added weight seems to make the fender wiggle just enough to give a continual metal on metal squeak. With the bags on, if I grip the fender below the taillight and just wiggle up and down it squeaks. If I do the same thing without the bags, no squeak.
I searched the forums and google trying to find anyone else that had the same issue but came up with nothing but I may have just overlooked something.
Anyway, anyone else develop this squeak? Will a little axle grease between the fender and other metal parts resolve the issue? I can't ride the bike like this. I'm already thinking of trading it in, if I can't resolve this I'll be squeaking my way into the dealer in search of a Road King far sooner than I plan!
