2015 fxdb "sb"

2015 fxdb "sb"
My 015 FXDB, Vivid Black has some really small swirl scratches in the finish that came from the factory. You have to look at it real close in the light to see them...what Im wanting to know is what kind of polish or compound can I use to try to remove these scratches? Any help is appreciated.

I think if came that way from the factory and it's a '15 it's the dealers problem under warranty. Hold them responsible--they'll have their detail guy make it right. I bought my vivid black street bob new in '07 and I do have some "normal" marking on the paint. Probably could clay bar it out if I cared enough. Harley paint is pretty tough.
I highly doubt they came from the factory, probably the dealer's wash boy or at my local dealer I've noticed some sales guys dusting bikes on the floor. That will easily introduce swirls to any paint, when done improperly.
Time to break out the polish. And no a hand polish wont take them out. But since they're light and the paint is new a light cutting paint finishing polish will do.

Once you accept the bike at the dealer and take it home, they will say you wiped it down wrong. That being said, try and convince them to give you a bottle of swirl and scratch, the black bottle. If you own vivid black Harley you will need this stuff for the rest of its time with you anyway, it works perfectly.

Some dealers might pull that. 2 years and about week (just out of factory warranty) I brought my bike in and showed the service manager my front brake master cylinder cover paint was peeling due to brake fluid seeping out and they replaced it no question. It's worth bringing it to the dealers attention IMO. I'd try and convince them to polish the bike. It's just good customer service.
