hello new to the forum. and im sure I am going to **** off a lot of guys here and with my very first post I have a 2002 wide glide 3. I am sick of it. I am going to do a major rebuild on it this winter. it going bagger. thinking of putting the big roadking front end on, with at least a 24" front wheel. and then of course hard bags and fender. im very mechanically inclined and all the work im not worried about nor really the cost. my question is hard would it be to mount the hard bags and fender? and the filler piece in front of the bags. I am sure it can be done. actually wondering if anyone has done it. so with all that being said, I will have all the blue and silver sheet metal for sale both fenders and tank
oh ok we have guys like this on this forum also I see. yes I understand it can be done, just wondering if there is a kit out there somewhere that has all the mounts already. building my own isn't a problem. just was wondering that's all. So maybe instead of being like that, (scrambler900) maybe just answer the question. I am on hardcore sledder for snowmobiles also too and people like you are on there also. Sad. I guess my question is, do the bags fit ok, like where the shock cutouts are on the bags fit the dynas and the filer piece in between the motor and bags. I didn't think that was all that bad of a question to get a response like that
Yikes. Ok, it's been done countless times and it's fairly simple. There is no filler piece that goes in front of the saddlebags like on a Road King, per see, nor is it needed. Tons of aftermarket full length rear fenders for Dynas such as Sumax and Oldies Inc. Or do what I did and use an old Shovelhead rear fender. There are countless ways to mount hard bags on a dyna. My own preference is to use older style Shovel hard bags and brackets, and just redrill the mounting holes on the brackets to match the Dynas. I think the smaller Shovel bags look much better on a Dyna than 93Up touring bags, but that's just me.
If you search FL Dyna, there's literally thousands of pictures of just this mod. Not to mention this very forum has an FL Dyna subsection which is solely dedicated to bolting FL touring parts on a Dyna.
awesome thank you so much bikerlaw my only concern was the indent on the inside of the bags where the shocks are if it will match up ok. it must. im going with the long bags that fan out on the bottom, real low. plus the roadking front end with at least a 24" wheel.

No, the cutout on the 93-up bags, DOES NOT line up with Dyna shocks. Its not even close.
