Hey, sorry to drag this back 5 months later but I'm looking at the 444 also for my '14 FXDF. I weigh 180, ride solo 98% of the time. I was going to go with the standard 12" but wondering if I should bother going the extra half inch? Those of you that have is it because you carry a passenger more than anything?
I'm also thinking of going with Progressive fork springs (not the lowering set). I did that setup on an '06 1200R I had (well the rears were the old 440) and they were a huge improvement with the addition of a fork brace to the stock handling.
I ended up getting the 444's, 12" standard springs. I weigh 160lbs, and am pretty pleased with them overall. I ride solo 100% of the time. They're definitely an improvement over stock, but as anyone will tell you, anything is better than stock!
Up front, I recently put in some Race Tech springs with the gold emulators. I love the way the bike handles now!
