From what you describe you're looking for, I think a Low Rider would be a perfect fit. As already suggested, a test ride will confirm this. I've never ridden a Fatboy, but the general consensus is that a Dyna will handle better. The Fatboy may be fine for you however.

The 'Dyna Death Wobble' you mentioned is a reference to the fact that the drivetrain is rubbermounted and when leaning through a high speed curve sometime they have a tendancy to wobble. Can be fixed easily for a couple hundred dollars.

With what you stated above, the Low Rider would be the clear choice IMO. The Low Rider is very much like a bigger Sportster on steroids with that 103" engine. So it should feel like a natural progression to you.

I had an 06 1200 Sporty that I sold to get my FXR about 1.5 years ago, so I can relate to the agility and maneuverability that you don't want to lose. You will lose that on a Fat Boy, they're cruisers with a slower reacting wide glide and fat front tire. The softaiil rear also won't be as kind in the twisties. There's a reason some folks refer to them as sloptails.

BTW, I just test rode a 15 Low Rider a few weeks ago when looking at new bikes with a friend. I only took the Low Rider to 75mph, but was pretty impressed. If I was to buy a new bike, that would be my choice. It will be an excellent upgrade to the Sportster. I just can't see how anybody could regret making that move.

Good luck in you decision.
