I'm looking for a set of tins fir my 2005 Wide Glide.
I came across a set from a 2006 but noticed the difference with the front fender mount....so that won't work.
Would the 2006 rear fender fit correctly on my 2005?
Or better yet, which years are common to my 2005 rear fender FXDWG.
Grateful for your help before I start throwing money at wrong parts.
Fenders would need to be modified, ANY Dyna tank (model or year) will bolt right up.
06 and later rear fender is slightly wider so it won't work, front fender you already figured out.
Not all earlier fenders will swap out, 03 and earlier rears were narrower, so not a practical choice. 04 and 05 are a breed unto themselves for many parts as you will discover.
I stayed with an 05 rear, made my own custom front, and run an 07 FXD tank on my 05 FXDWG. I preferred the aircraft style console/cap setup.
Also, no difference between carb and Fuel Injected tanks except the petcock.
I did notice, however that the 2005 Dyna parts book lists a PN 59634-02 for Wide Glide GE primer rear fender. Being a -02, would this not signify correct fit for 2002?
The 2002 and 2004 list the same 59634-02 as well.
Is it a parts book error by chance?
I'd believe you more than the Harley parts books but confusing as it is.
