Default fluid change

not sure if this is the proper place to ask this, but here goes. I have a 97 fxdwg and want to change all the fluids, my question is, I have v&h bigshots on it, do I have to remove the rear pipe to access the trans fluid fill? looks to me as I have to because its right under the pipe but not sure if there is a way around that, any help is appreciated, thanks

Not sure what your situation looks like exactly, but would a funnel work?

doubt it if there is any kind of dipstick at all it wont come out, and I would have to cut down an allen wrench just to get at the plug, guess ill have to loosen head bolts and pull rear pipe bolts and rotate the back pipe up out of the way

Cutting down an allen is the only way and how I've done my older WG's with Big Shot Staggered exhausts, the V&H BSS's are a one piece header so you'll be removing the entire exhaust system if you want to go that route, you won't be rotating the rear pipe

Cut down an allen and use a small long stem funnel... it will work

not the staggered pipes and they are 2 different pipes, even if I cut down the allen, if theres a dipstick the plug wont come out, a little curious why pipes made for a dyna wont let you check the trans fluid without pulling exhaust

Your kidding right?
if can not remove the filler then you have to do something else.
Got a photo?
i would like to see it.
when you get the plug lose the dip stick is on a ball. So it can move to get it out.
never see one that the pipes has to be losened or removed. That would suck.
i looked at photos on the net and it is for sure a tight fitment.

so I cut down the allen and got the plug loose, then I had to jog it around a couple different ways to get it to come out, but it did come out, then you have to insert it and jog it around a couple different ways to get it to go in straight, its not on a swivel its a straight dipstick and it wants to catch on the clutch cable and not go in straight, another half in of clearance would have been ideal, wont be checking it hot as you literally have to have both hands wrapped around the pipe to jog it around enough, but I got it and don't have to pull the pipes. thanks for all the help from everyone
