Default V&H Pro Pipe install issue

So I'm working on installing this pipe on an 06 FLHT. For some reason the header is sitting too far to the right of the bike to get the muffler to line up with the hanger. I've rechecked to make sure that no spacers exist on the transmission bracket and that the head pipe mounts squarely to it which it does. As that mount is in a fixed position there doesn't seem to be any way to move the header in, and obviously there isn't a lot of play to move the muffler left. Seems like I need an offset hanger or something?

There should be some flex in the pipe to pull it over - slightly loosen the flange bolts a little, keep the tail pipe bolts loose, bolt up the the rear hanger, retighten the flange bolts & then the tail pipe bolts

Thought you weren't supposed to tighten the exhaust until it was all lined up?

Did you buy it used? Seems like it's not the correct fit for your bike...maybe.

Could it be for an 09-later bike? Does it have any O2 Bungs? Size?

You may have a Pro Pipe made for the 2009 and later models.

It does have a set of bungs that are plugged, not sure what size. Is there perhaps a part number stamped on these things I wonder?

Well I went back to the front and loosened everything up. It allowed some movement at the rear but maybe half of what I need. That transmission bracket is definitely the hangup, it sticks out too far. Went thru the instructions a few times and I don't see a solution. Oh, and the bracket for the 09+ bikes is different than the 00-06 style so I'm reasonably sure I've got the right stuff. Perhaps the bracket just wasn't made to spec.

Click on the instruction sheet in this link. Looks like there are 2 brackets that come with the exhaust Page 1 Step 13. Do you have the correct bracket installed on the transmission?

Now that is very interesting. I wasn't given 2 brackets, just the one that I am suspecting is the wider of the two. Funny thing is that the instructions you listed actually say that the 06 should take the wide one and the 07-08 use the narrow. I wonder if a simple swap of the bracket is all that is needed.
